Our programs are based on following children’s interests and learning through play benefiting the development of children’s social competence which supports their lifelong learning.
The Early Years Framework provides the foundation for our curriculum through a combination of intentional teaching and spontaneous moments. An ongoing cycle of planning includes observations, reflections and programming to meet each child’s learning. Planning is based on children’s interests, strengths and needs which support each child to reach their optimum learning outcomes.
The methods of documentation include both digital (photographs, videos and emails to families) and anecdotal written records. These are evident in each child’s hard copy portfolio which can be accessed at any time.
Group interests are also followed and extended upon, creating an opportunity for families and extended families to participate. Each child will have an individual "Portfolio" in which staff members and family can contribute observations, comments, photos, work samples, letters and ideas for the program. This "Portfolio" documents your child's learning over the course of the year, allowing you to 'see' their emerging skills developing into learned concepts.
Growing Coastal (Nature Program)
Growing Coastal (Nature Program)
Growing Coastal is a nature-based environmental program for children aged 3.5 to 6 years, designed to inspire a love of nature through hands-on experiences in our local coastal environment.
Our sessions are slow-paced and child-led, giving children the freedom to explore, play, and discover at their own rhythm. Through this approach, children build confidence, independence, resilience, self-esteem, and develop a deep appreciation for the natural world while learning the importance of caring for a sustainable future.
The program is led by qualified Early Childhood Educators, all with additional Forest School or Bush Kindy training. Each session runs from 9:00am to 2:00pm with two educators and a maximum of 10 children, ensuring a small group, supportive environment.
We embrace all weather—yes, even the rain! Children are provided with raincoats and rain pants, and we set up a shelter to keep dry, making every session a true outdoor adventure.
